Dr. Matthew Thacker D.C. CCWFN

Dr. Matthew Thacker is originally from Melrose Park, IL. Dr. Matt became a chiropractor to share the gift of the healing power of the human body and chiropractic with everyone, and he looks forward to educating and serving the Homewood, IL community.

Dr. Matt’s journey to become a Chiropractor was born out of his own personal experience. Dr. Matt suffered migraines, nausea, and dizziness and was diagnosed by his medical doctors with a brain tumor. His life came to an abrupt halt, and he underwent further testing and round after round of medications that were destroying his body and mind. After extensive treatments, cancer cells could not be detected, and Dr. Matt was informed that he would have to take a lifetime of brain-altering prescription medications to keep him from having seizures and that he’d need to monitor the progress of the tumor for the rest of his life. It was at this time that Dr. Matt sought out chiropractic to see if it could help. Dr. Matt started to get adjusted regularly, and after only three months, he felt like a completely different person. By the end of six months, Dr. Matt threw away all of his anti-seizure medications and, to this day, remains off of all the meds. Dr. Matt believes that he would not be alive today if he hadn’t walked into a Chiropractor’s office. He was given his life back!

Dr. Matt pursued his undergraduate studies at Moraine Community College and Scott Community College and later received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic. An avid student, Dr. Matt loves learning new things and has recently discovered a strong interest in gardening. Dr. Matt was on the Dean’s list at Palmer College of Chiropractic for multiple semesters and his charitable efforts include a Missions trip to Brazil where he provided chiropractic care for people in need of quality healthcare.

Dr. Katie Maier D.C.

Dr. Katie is a licensed Chiropractor who graduated from National University of Health Sciences (Lombard, IL) after studying Biology at the University of St. Francis (Joliet, IL). She is originally from Bourbonnais, IL and is excited to be serving the community of Homewood not far from her hometown!

Dr. Katie went to chiropractic school because she loved learning about the human body and its natural healing powers when properly nourished and taken care of. In her own life, she uses chiropractic, nutrition, exercise and the great outdoors to live a full, healthy life. She has been practicing chiropractic since 2017 and is also certified in acupuncture and Webster technique.

She uses a holistic approach when treating her patients. This means not only does she perform chiropractic adjustments as she sees fit, she teaches her patients about eating healthy, being active, getting outdoors and practicing self-care for mental health.

Her hobbies include hiking, paddling, camping, rock climbing and spending time with her family and friends.

Tina – Office Manager/Patient Advocate

I joined Adjusting to Health in January. I love my job! I enjoy meeting and getting to know all our wonderful patients! I am excited to be part of holistic health and incorporate healthier habits in my family’s life. Before receiving Chiropractic care and cleaning up my diet, I suffered from severe asthma and high blood pressure. Since my family and I have been getting adjusted regularly, I have not had any asthma issues and my blood pressure is within a normal range…without any medication.

I live in Midlothian with my husband Raul, and my 2 sons Michael and RJ. We moved into Midlothian the same day my oldest was born, around 2004 and have loved every minute of it. My sons are active in travel soccer and school activities, so they keep me on the go.  Chiropractic is a great way to keep my family healthy and active for years to come.
